Herbarium specimen No. 4171 Scutellaria elliptica Muhl. ex Spreng., Hairy Skullcap, at John D. Freeman Herbarium (AUA), Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama. It was collected in Rome, Floyd County in Georgia, and identified as Scutellaria pilosa Michx. by Alvin W. Chapman (1809-1899).
