Description: "Buds yellow, ovoid, scales valvate, lepidote; twigs glabrous. Leaflets 5-9, obovate, ovate, elliptic, or lanceolate, 2.5-14 cm long, 1-7.5 cm wide, glabrous above, lepidote beneath. Fruit ellipsoid, 4-winged, 1.9-2.2 cm long, ca. 1.5 cm in diam.; nut ellipsoid, smooth; husk splitting entire length, ca. 1 mm thick. (n=16)."- Radford, Albert E., Harry E. Ahles, and C.
